Heidi Trautman

Heidi Trautmann, born in 1941 in Königsberg, Eastern Prussia, Germany. Studied arts in South Africa in a local art studio for two years; continued in Germany in the art studio of Rolf Märkl for three years. Together with other artists she established an art and studio centre of various disciplines, the “Werkhof” between Salzburg and Munich. She organized barn operas, musical events with international artists, literary circles, art exhibitions, pottery, art and craft markets for some years.

With her husband she came to Cyprus in 1999 after having lived on a sailing boat for 6 years. In 2001 she joined the Levantine Art College, Edremit in North Cyprus for five years and entertains an art group till today (2020). Member of North Cyprus art associations. Several group exhibitions over the many years and six solo exhibitions in Germany and North Cyprus, starting from 1983 – 2019. From 2005 – 2016, she has been writing articles for local newspapers and magazines on artists and art events in Cyprus and has written several books, travel books and 2 volumes on the arts in North Cyprus. More paintings on my website and on facebook the 2020 works related to Corona times. In 2015 she was awarded with the German Cross of Merit for her work in Cyprus
